The Section of Journalism is characterised by the wealth of academic research. Our staff members research various facets of media functioning, journalism culture, the theoretical and practical aspects of professions in journalism, and different aspects of media regulation and media self-regulation in Poland and other systems abroad
Within the Section of Communication Design we place a lot of emphasis — both academically as well as didactically – on researching the conditions, history, and the contemporary usage of design and communication.
It gathers lecturers of the Institute of Journalism and Social Communication, representatives of different disciplines and science (humanities and social) researching the following areas: cultural transfers, communication cultures (especially Polish, German, and Russian), stereotypes, cultural memory, various identity manifestations (national, religious) and alterity /otherness etc.
The Section of Image Communication was founded in 2014 with the view to preparing our course graduates for professional fulfillment in three fields primarily: managing customer relations, creative management, strategic management.
The research on film is dominated by the problematics of social and ethical transformation, reflection on postmodern aesthetics, and its forms in the cinema of genres as well as in films of high artistic value. It is complemented by the works on the documentary and TV productions.
