Changes in the mode of conducting classes starting on October 12, 2020

Ladies and Gentlemen, Dear Students,

Starting Monday, October 12, 2020, the schedule for classes in the Institute of Journalism and Social Communication is going to change. We will try to publish a modified schedule for full-time studies by the end of Friday, October 9. The new schedule for part-time studies will appear on the Institute's website in the following days.

The next classes (October 10-11) for part-time students will take place according to the current schedule, which means that students of the first year of undergraduate studies (of both our fields of study) will have classes in the Institute building. I will send additional information about these classes to our students – to their university email addresses.

Classes will change to remote mode almost entirely. For the time being, we only plan to conduct classroom lessons for subjects requiring a computer lab, a radio studio, or a TV lab. The modified schedule will clearly inform you which classes will be held remotely and which ones will be held in the classroom.

The change is of course related to the very disturbing increase in coronavirus infections in our country. You are aware that we planned to conduct classes in a mixed mode in the current semester. Unlike many universities in Poland, we believed that it would be possible. We made an effort to prepare a schedule which assumed a mixed form of classes, and we wanted to meet you in the classrooms. However, we now have to suspend this idea. Classes according to the new schedule will be carried out until further notice – until the pandemic situation in the country improves.

We are convinced that remote classes can be as effective as traditional ones. They will be held using the MS Teams application, in real time, and in accordance with the updated schedule.

Stay healthy!
